Favourite Quote: I don’t know where I heard it, but someone once told me FAIL stands for “First Attempt In Learning,” and that has always stuck.

Favourite Books or Podcasts: I’m super into true crime. Right now I’ve been enjoying the Crime Junkie podcast, but I also like to listen to really in-depth, intensely researched cases. Wondery and the LA Times often team up and I’ve particularly enjoyed Dr. Death, Dirty John, and Man in the Window.

What do you do at The Employer Brand Shop? At present, I’m focused on delivering employer brand and recruitment marketing content for our clients to engage their employees and attract qualified talent to their organizations.

What are some of your favourite past work experiences? I had a great mentor during my co-op term at Scotiabank. I really feel like she helped to shape who I am as a professional today. She taught me everything from Excel skills to personal branding.

Also, my last role at Indellient helped me learn a lot about employer branding, recruitment marketing, internal communications, and employee engagement. While working there, I developed a really holistic view of talent acquisition and human resources, so I think I bring an interesting perspective to the table for our client work at The Employer Brand Shop.

What do you like best about working in employer branding? I come from an HR and talent acquisition background, but I learned early on in my career that a lot of marketing principles actually apply to this space. Particularly, I learned that creative marketing strategies can be helpful for building a pipeline of qualified talent. I love working in employer branding full-time now because it’s exciting to mix the two worlds together. It provides an interesting balance and new challenges every day.

What types of projects do you get really excited about? I love creating content to spotlight employers who truly care about their employees and work hard to do the right thing. I’m also really looking forward to collaborating with industry-leading professionals to help them elevate their employer brand initiatives and employee engagement efforts, while crafting and showcasing their stories in creative and attention-grabbing ways.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? Walking, hiking, swimming, attending spin classes, and playing with my five nephews!
